Registry-style ceremonies by civil celebrants, not a government registry office. No fuss, no frills, no wedding. Just paperwork.

Paperwork-Only Marriage in Adelaide

A paperwork-only marriage is the simplest way to get legally married in Adelaide.

We are private celebrants, not a government service. This is a low-cost, registry-style option for couples who want the legal marriage without a full wedding.

What it is

Our paperwork-only service is a short legal marriage appointment that covers the essentials required by Australian law:

  • an authorised celebrant
  • both parties there in person
  • two adult witnesses
  • the legal words
  • signing the marriage certificates

That is it. No aisle. No long ceremony. No guest-focused wedding format.

What it is not

This service is not for:

  • a personalised ceremony
  • a big guest list
  • a styled elopement
  • a full wedding with readings, music cues, and a run sheet

If you want an elopement, book Elopement Collective. If you want a full ceremony, book Josh Withers.

How the process works

  1. Click Get Married and fill out the booking form.
  2. Pay the fee.
  3. Prepare your NOIM using NOIM Easy.
  4. Have the NOIM witnessed by an authorised witness and send the paperwork in.
  5. Once the paperwork is received, we confirm the date, time, and place based on our availability.
  6. We meet each party separately in person before the marriage, as required by law.
  7. We do the short legal marriage and lodge the paperwork afterwards.

Why couples choose this option

Paperwork-only marriage is a good fit if you want to:

  • get married without a wedding
  • keep costs down
  • keep things private
  • do the legal marriage now and celebrate later
  • sort out the marriage before travel, visas, or family paperwork

Is it legally different from the registry office?

No. The legal status of the marriage is the same.

The difference is that we are a private celebrant service, not the government registry office. If you want to compare the two, read SA Registry Office vs Adelaide Marriage Office.

What you still need to do

You still need to meet the normal legal requirements:

Best next step

If this is what you want, do not overthink it.
