Registry-style ceremonies by civil celebrants, not a government registry office. No fuss, no frills, no wedding. Just paperwork.

Can I Get Married Online in Australia?

No. You cannot have a fully legal online marriage in Australia.

What the law requires

For the marriage itself:

  • both parties must be physically present
  • the celebrant must be physically present
  • two adult witnesses must be physically present

So the marriage cannot happen by video call, proxy, or online platform.

What can still be done remotely

Some parts of the process can still happen before the day, including:

  • initial questions
  • document review
  • booking and payment
  • NOIM preparation

But the law still requires us to physically meet each party separately before the marriage.

What most people actually want

When people search for an online wedding, they usually mean they want something simple, cheap, and easy.

That is exactly what our paperwork-only marriage service is for.

Best next step

Ready to get married?

Book the paperwork-only service

Click the Get Married link, fill out the booking form, and pay the fee. Then prepare your NOIM with NOIM Easy , have it witnessed by an authorised witness, and send it in. We confirm the date, time, and place once the paperwork is received and we know what we have available.
